Work on the Ouimet Bridge: Starting September 14

The ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable wishes to inform the public that repair work on the bridge located on rue Ouimet, over the rivière Quinchien, in Vaudreuil-Dorion, will begin on September 14 and continue until the end of fall 2026. Work will pause for the winter and resume for a few weeks in spring 2027 to complete the project.

Traffic impacts and management
 

From September 14 until the end of fall 2026
 

• Alternating traffic on rue Ouimet, between boulevard de la Cité-des-Jeunes and chemin Paul-Gérin-Lajoie.
  - Traffic will be directed by flaggers from Monday to Friday, between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Outside these hours, traffic will be controlled by traffic lights.
  - To help limit congestion on rue Ouimet, road users—particularly employees of école Brind’Amour and école secondaire de la Cité-des-Jeunes, employees of the Centre de services scolaire des Trois-Lacs, and parents of students—are encouraged to use avenue Saint-Charles and chemin Paul-Gérin-Lajoie to reach the various schools in the area.
  - Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained throughout the work. 

• Occasional full closures of rue Ouimet during the evening and overnight, between boulevard de la Cité-des-Jeunes and rue Justine-Poirier.

  - During these closures, road users are asked to follow the marked detour via rue Jeannotte and avenue Saint-Charles. Rue Jeannotte will be reopened before the work begins.

The Ministère recommends that road users travelling through the area allow additional time to reach their destination. The work may be postponed, extended or cancelled due to adverse weather conditions or operational constraints. Before heading out, road users are encouraged to consult Québec 511, a useful tool for planning their trips.
