Business Sector

The strategic location of Vaudreuil-Dorion, at the junction of Highways 20, 30 and 40, gives it a privileged status with developers and merchants.

Commercial activities

One of the two main concentrations of commercial activities in the MRC de Vaudreuil-Soulanges is in Vaudreuil-Dorion. This hub is located between the Dorion sector, along Highway 20, Avenue Saint-Charles in the heart of downtown, and Boulevard de la Gare. There are over 250 wholesale and retail establishments employing approximately 2,700 people.

Economic vitality

Vaudreuil-Dorion has attracted many merchants over the years—food, catering, clothing, entertainment, renovation, etc. This development means that residents no longer have to cross the Île-aux-Tourtes bridge to shop.

In the last few years, the Boulevard de la Gare and Chemin Dumberry sectors have been growing strongly. It is also expected that there will be significant changes on Boulevard Harwood, due to the revitalization project initiated with the special urban planning program.
