Natural Areas Conservation Plan: Residents invited to take part in the process

As part of the development of its Natural Areas Conservation Master Plan, the Ville de Vaudreuil-Dorion invites residents to participate in a public consultation workshop. This opportunity for discussion, intended to gather residents’ views and expectations, will take place on October 27, from 7 to 9 p.m., in the Lac-des-Deux-Montagnes room at the Municipal Hub.

With support from consulting firm Groupe DDM, the Ville began developing a natural areas conservation master plan for its entire territory last May. The process aims to inventory and map all natural areas within Vaudreuil-Dorion to establish conservation measures suited to their ecological, social and economic value, in keeping with existing priorities and in collaboration with the community.

Once completed, the plan will establish conservation targets for Vaudreuil-Dorion’s natural areas and outline the objectives and actions to be implemented within a realistic timeframe. It will help guide long-term land-use planning decisions while preserving biodiversity.

“Conserving our natural areas is a responsibility we all share. Residents’ participation in this process is important in helping us better understand their concerns, expectations and vision for the future of our territory. I therefore invite everyone to take part in this workshop and contribute to the discussions that will guide our actions over the coming years,” said Mayor Paul Dumoulin.

Residents wishing to participate in the public consultation workshop must register in advance by emailing environnement@ville.vaudreuil-dorion.qc.ca or calling 450 455-3371.
