Construction of de la Gare roundabout begins on June 19
Following the announcement from Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable (MTMD) du Québec regarding the start of construction on the roundabout at Bou-levard de la Gare on June 19, the Ville de Vaudreuil-Dorion would like to provide additional information to residents.
This new phase, expected to last 10 weeks, will be followed by the construction of a second roundabout at the intersection with Boulevard Henry-Ford. These projects, carried out by the MTMD, are part of a major redevelopment effort in the area, which is essential to preparing for the opening of the future regional hospital and improving traffic flow in one of the city’s busiest areas.

“We know that this construction project is causing significant traffic delays and making daily commutes more difficult. We, too, drive through Vaudreuil-Dorion every day and face the same challenges. From the very beginning, we’ve been transparent: this will be a difficult time for everyone. We’re now ente-ring the eighth week of construction and making progress. It will be a challenging summer on the roads, but these improvements are necessary for years to come,” said Mayor Paul Dumoulin.
The construction of de la Gare roundabout will cause significant traffic disruptions in the area. The City encourages residents to review the map of road closures, detours, and mitigation measures, and will continue to keep the public informed at every key stage of the project.
Extension of the Route Harwood Closure
CPKC has announced an extension of the emergency work to rebuild the CP railway overpass above Harwood Road (342), between Rue Henry-Ford and Chemin de la Petite-Rivière, through July 15, accor-ding to information provided by the company. This extension is due to the strike by CPKC signal operators and communications staff. This situation is entirely beyond the control of the Ville de Vaudreuil-Dorion and is causing significant disruption to the detour routes currently in place.
Supporting Our Local Businesses: New Hello Card Campaign
As construction continues, the City reminds residents of the importance of supporting local businesses, particularly those located in the area directly affected by the road closures.
Following on the heels of the ACCES program, the City and Développement Vaudreuil-Soulanges (DEV) will launch a new campaign for enhanced Hello prepaid cards on Thursday, June 18. Residents can purchase a Hello card for $100 to receive $150 to spend at a network of more than 30 participating businesses, primarily located on Boulevard de la Cité-des-Jeunes, between Boulevard de la Gare and Rue Émile-Bouchard, as well as at businesses affected by construction on Route De Lotbinière and Rue Chicoine.
To ensure that as many people as possible can benefit from this initiative, those who have already pur-chased a Hello card will not be able to purchase a second one during this new campaign.
