ECO: The creations of 150 young people come to life at the Municipal Hub
Last night, in the presence of artist Philippe Corriveau, young participants, and their families, the Ville de Vaudreuil-Dorion unveiled the result of the ÉCO project—a work of art brought to life through projections and light mapping on the municipal landmark.
Carried out over the summer aboard the Caravane Mozaïk, the project enabled nearly 150 children aged 9 to 12, attending Vaudreuil-Dorion’s day camps, to explore nature, biodiversity, and theconcept of ecosystems through artistic creation and activities.
With the guidance of artist Philippe Corriveau, the young participants first imagined and created animals, plants, and natural elements using drawing, paper cutting, and collage. They then learned how to bring their creations to life through stop-motion animation and digital tools. The various sequences produced during the workshops were ultimately combined into a collective work: an imaginary, vibrant, and teeming ecosystem that is projected onto the municipal center.
A Collaboration with Day Camps
The ÉCO project was made possible thanks to a wonderful collaboration between the artist, the day camps, and the Animation Jeunesse’s team, which embraced this initiative and enabled young people to enjoy a unique and enriching cultural outreach experience.

They demonstrated a great deal of imagination and creativity, and can be proud to see their creations come to life at the Municipal Hub. This project clearly illustrates the importance the City places on initiatives that allow young people—as well as our entire population—to create and explore new forms of expression. Culture can also be digital, interactive, and surprising,” emphasized the mayor of Vaudreuil-Dorion, Mr. Paul Dumoulin.
A First Projection at the Municipal Hub
ÉCO marks the very first projection presented at the Vaudreuil-Dorion Municipal Hub. Following its unveiling to the young participants and their families, the general public will have the opportunity to admire it every weekend in September, from 7:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. It should be noted that this project was made possible thanks to financial support from the Cultural Development Agreement between the Ville de Vaudreuil-Dorion and the Ministère de la Culture et des Communications du Québec.
