Outdoor swimming pools and water playgrounds

During the summer season, Vaudreuil-Dorion residents can cool off by visiting one of the 2 outdoor pools or one of the 11 water games.

Several new features are offered to citizens for the 2022 summer season. Consult the complete aquatic program: 

Outdoor swimming pools

Free access for residents with citizen card
Non-residents: children $1.50, 55 and over $2.50, adults $3.50
Bathing cap mandatory, available on site ($)
Children 6 years and under and those requiring a floating aid must be accompanied by a responsible person in the water.

Bronze medal (intensive course)

  • Course length: 22 hours + exam
  • From July 3 to August 14 + exam
  • Cost resident: $125 | Cost non-resident: $150
  • Additional fees: Certification ($60), Canadian Lifesaving Manual ($60), pocket mask and anti-viral filter ($21)
  • Prerequisites: Must have a swim level that corresponds to Junior 10 and be 13 years of age at time of exam

The Bronze Medallion certification allows you to work as an assistant lifeguard around a pool from the age of 15. It is valid for 2 years if used as a work permit and is valid for life if used as a Bronze Cross certification.

Young initiated lifeguards 

Becoming a Junior Lifeguard will not only help you improve your swimming skills, but will also provide you with the basic lifesaving and first aid skills needed to successfully complete Bronze Level courses. The approach is effort-based and develops endurance and efficient swimming techniques while having fun. Participants will learn how to perform the primary examination of a conscious victim, communicate effectively with pre-hospital emergency services, perform a visual scan of an aquatic facility and effectively initiate rescue assistance in an emergency situation, among other skills.

  • Schedule: Saturdays from July 2 to August 13, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Duration of the course: 14 hours 
  • Cost resident: $86 | Cost non-resident: $110
  • Prerequisites: 8 to 12 years old and have a swimming level corresponding to junior 5

Cancellation and refund

For any change or for a refund request, complete the refund or transfer request form (in French) and send it by email to the Recreation and Culture Department. No refunds will be issued for withdrawals unless a medical certificate or other supporting documentation is provided.

In the case of a cancellation by the City or a justified cancellation request, a credit will be issued to the account in proportion to the service not received. For refund requests by cheque:

  • If the request is sent prior to the start of the event, an administration fee of 10% or $10 (whichever is greater) will be deducted from the amount to be refunded.
  • If the request is sent after the event has begun, the amount of services rendered must be added to the previous calculation on a pro-rata basis.
