Summer Camps

In addition to Camp Animation Jeunesse, school-aged children have a choice of different types of specialized camps for summertime fun.

Playground animation

In order to support the families of Vaudreuil-Dorion, the City, in collaboration with the association Animation Jeunesse, offers to its citizens a free animation service for children from 5 to 12 years old in the following parks :

  • Parc des Tuileries (10 a.m. to noon only)
  • Parc de Bel-Air (1 p.m. to 3 p.m. only)
  • Parc de Dorion-Gardens
  • Parc Mozart
  • Parc Aurèle-Joliat
  • Parc des Géraniums
  • Parc de la Maison-Valois
  • Parc de la Canardière
  • Parc des Chenaux
  • Parc de la Seigneurie
  • Parc Séguin
  • Parc des Narcisses (new, in replacement of Parc Bourget)
  • Parc Briand

The objective of this service is to offer an alternative to the day camps, whose places are limited this year.

This option will help families by allowing them to better balance work and family, with some parents being able to work from home. The presence of parents will not be mandatory. However, the service will not be a care package like paid day camps. The child will be able to arrive and leave at the desired time.

The animation will take place from Tuesday, June 30 to Friday, August 14. Two time slots will be offered, from 10:00 a.m. to noon and from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Please note that registration is no longer required.

*Please note that activities are cancelled in case of rain.

Animation Jeunesse

The City's summer day camp is attended by close to 900 children each year, spread across five primary and secondary schools in the Vaudreuil-Dorion area. Activities are offered over a seven-week period and generally extend from the first week of July to mid-August, Monday to Friday. Animation is provided by a team of students aged 16 to 22, who have training in animation and first aid.

A companion program in leisure is offered to children with physical or mental disabilities who could not participate in camp activities without the services of an accompanying person.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, organizers must adapt the camps to government guidelines, including a decrease in the ratio of children per counsellor. As a result, although we are adding a few sites, the camps will unfortunately not be able to accommodate the same number of children this year. We therefore ask for your collaboration in order to register your children only for the weeks you require this service.

Consult the Frequently Asked Questions to answer your questions about the current situation.

Parent Guide 2020

Consult the Parent Guide 2020 (In French) to have all the details in hand for the start of the day camp. You'll find information about the schedule, the measures implemented in the context of COVID-19, details about the various animation sites and much more. This document is to be kept throughout the summer.
