People with Disabilities

The City of Vaudreuil-Dorion wants to make all aspects of life easier for people with disabilities. To this end, it implements accessibility measures while remaining within administrative, organizational and financial limits.

Action Plan for People with Disabilities

Under Section 6.1.1 of the Act to Secure Handicapped Persons in the Exercise of Their Rights with a View to Achieving Social, School and Workplace Integration, all government departments, most public-sector organizations, and municipalities with a population of more than 15,000 must produce, adopt and annually publish an action plan for people with disabilities.

The City's action plan sets out the measures it will implement in 2020 to reduce obstacles to the integration of disabled people in its various sectors of activity. The plan is updated annually.

If you have questions or comments regarding accessibility for people with disabilities in the territory of Vaudreuil-Dorion, please call us at 450-455-3371 or send an email at this address accessibilite@ville.vaudreuil-dorion.qc.ca.

Leisure Integration Program

In keeping with its mission and values, the Ville de Vaudreuil-Dorion promotes the integration of children with special needs into its day camp program. children with special needs within its day camp program.

The Leisure Integration Program aims to provide accommodations for children with special needs who would otherwise be unable to participate in regular day camp activities. It does not replace specialized camps, but offers a service for integration and inclusion in regular day camp programs. This non-specialized integration service is offered to children who meet the eligibility criteria, at no additional cost. Without being limited to the following examples, this service can take many forms, such as the use of unaccompanied material adaptations, integration into a different age group, or partial or complete integration into a group with the presence of an attendant.

To register a child with special needs for summer day camp, please submit a request between February 10 and March 10 of each year. By applying, you’re not officially signing up for the program but simply giving us an idea of the need for this service so that we can request funding. For more information or to make an appointment to fill out an application, please contact the Recreation and Culture Department by e-mail or at 450-455-3371, option 4.
