Intergenerational community center
Located in one of the city's most densely populated areas, close to two elementary schools, seniors' residences, the CLSC, numerous services, the municipal hub and the Parc-école des Quatre-Saisons, édifice de la Croisée is a civic environment where all generations come together.
The permanent offices of the following organizations are located in the building, at 1255-1257, rue Émile-Bouchard:
- Center communautaire des aînés de Vaudreuil-Soulanges
- Cercle de fermières
- COMQUAT
- Corporation de développement communautaire de Vaudreuil-Soulanges
- Maison des jeunes de Vaudreuil-Dorion
- Nourri-Source Montérégie
The City holds a number of activities here, including the Creative Oasis and discovery workshops of the Passeport culturel. See the calendar for the schedule. In addition, the Société de généalogie Vaudreuil-Cavagnal (Vaudreuil-Cavagnal genealogical society) offers activities and the Maison de la famille (family centre) offers homework help.
The creation of this intergenerational community hub in 2023 responds to a need raised during public consultations on the Family and Seniors Policy and at Community Forum 2021.
Self-service freezer
A self-service freezer operated by the organization Les Complices alimentaires is located in the Croisée building. This initiative is open to everyone and aims to make local fruits and vegetables more accessible at affordable prices while reducing food waste.
The freezer contains food that is grown, harvested, and prepared locally, then frozen without salt or additives. Three price points are offered to allow residents to choose the one that fits their budget. An approach that supports everyone’s right to access healthy and varied food!
