Indoor pool

The City of Vaudreuil-Dorion operates the indoor pool at the Cité-des-Jeunes campus in conjunction with the Centre des services scolaires des Trois-Lacs. It offers free swim times and swimming lessons for both children and adults.

The pool is closed for the summer season.

Reservations for free swim are no longer required (except for March break activities). Non-residents are welcome.

Registration

Registrations will be held online via « Mon inscription ». It is important to create your account on the registration platform 48 hours before the opening of registrations, if you have not already done so. To create an account, as well as to register, residents must have a valid citizen card. Registration by phone is also possible for people without access to a computer (450 455-3371, option 4).

Procedures for creating your account

Cancellation and refund

For any change or for a refund request, complete the refund or transfer request form (in French) and send it by email to the Recreation and Culture Department. No refunds will be issued for withdrawals unless a medical certificate or other supporting documentation is provided.

In the case of a cancellation by the City or a justified cancellation request, a credit will be issued to the account in proportion to the service not received. For refund requests by cheque:

  • If the request is sent prior to the start of the event, an administration fee of 10% or $10 (whichever is greater) will be deducted from the amount to be refunded.
  • If the request is sent after the event has begun, the amount of services rendered must be added to the previous calculation on a pro-rata basis.

Red Cross Swim Preschool and Junior 1

Water safety and rescue training

Bronze Medal - intensive course

  • Online registration, starting April 5 at 8:30 a.m. (residents) and April 12 at 8:30 a.m. (non-residents)
  • Duration of course: 22 hours + exam
  • From June 13 to 19 + Exam on June 22
  • Cost for residents: $125 | Cost for non-residents: $150
  • Additional costs: Certification ($60), manuel Canadien de sauvetage ($60), pocket mask and antiviral filter ($21)
  • Prerequisites: Minimum 13 years of age and Bronze Star certification

The Bronze Medal certificate allows you to work as an assistant lifeguard starting at the age of 15. It is valid for 2 years, if used as a work permit, and valid for life to register for the Bronze Cross certificate.

Water Safety Instructor Course

  • Prerequisites: Must be at least 15 years of age on the last day of the MSA - Classroom and Pool component, be able to perform the stroke and technique of Red Cross Junior 10 Swimming, and have a Bronze Cross certification (current or not).
  • Material Provided: Water Safety Instructor Workbook and Red Cross Swim How-To Guide

Bronze Cross - Intensive course

  • Online registration, will resume this fall
  • Course duration: 21 hours + exam
  • Fridays AND Saturdays, 6 to 9:30 p.m.
  • Cost for residents: $ 132 | Cost for non-residents: $ 160
  • Additional costs: Certification ($60). If the candidat does not have a pocket mask ($18) and anti-viral
  • filter ($5), they may purchase them from the Recreation and Culture Department. 
  • Prerequisites: To hold the Bronze Medallion award and be 13 years old on the day of the exam

The holder of a Bronze Cross Award is entitled to work as an assistant-lifeguard in a pool (15 years and older) and on a beach (16 years and older). It is valid for 2 years if used as a work permit and has no expiration date if used to register to a Distinction or National Lifeguard award.

National Lifeguard - Pool | offered in March 2022 (dates to come)

  • Online registration Residents: January 18, 8:30 a.m. | All: January 21, 8:30 a.m.
  • Course duration: 40 hours + exam
  • Thursdays 5:30-9:15 p.m. and Fridays 5:15-9:30 p.m. Exam: Friday, April 15, 6-9 p.m.
  • Cost for residents: $ 195 | Cost for non-residents: $ 235
  • Additional costs: Certification ($100), Alerte manual ($52), pocket mask ($18)
  • Prerequisites: Hold the Bronze Cross Certification, and first aid and be at least 15 years old on the day of the exam

The national lifeguard certificate allows you to work as a lifeguard from the age of 17. It is valid for a period of 2 years.

Introduction to scuba diving

Practice of basic exercises such as mask emptying, ear balancing, regulator recovery and underwater adaptation.

  • Online registration starting February 14, 8:30 a.m. (residents) and starting February 28, 8:30 a.m. (all)
  • Class dates: April 9 and May 7, 7 to 8:30 p.m.
  • Ages 12 and up (12 and 13 year olds must be accompanied by an adult) 
  • Residents cost: $35 / class | Non-residents cost: $42 / class

Diving equipment is provided (fins, mask, snorkel, tank, regulator and jacket).

Aquapoussette - New in 2022

This class is for parents who want to get back in shape with their 3 to 9 month old baby. With this class, your baby will discover the joys of water, comfortably installed in his water stroller. 

  • Online registration, starting March 14, 6 p.m. (residents) and March 16, 8:30 a.m. (for all)
  • From March 28 to May 20, 2022 (8 weeks)
  • Schedule: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 8:45 to 9:30 a.m.
  • Duration: 45 minutes
  • Cost residents: $48 | Cost non-residents: $64*
    * $10 discount when registering for two classes per week.

Equipment:

  • Bathing cap is mandatory for the parent.
  • Bring two extra towels: one for the baby's comfort in the stroller and a second one to wrap the baby as soon as he gets out of the water.
  • Only "Little Swimmer" type of diapers are accepted.
  • You may bring a small bath toy.

Swimming Technique (Triathlon) - New in 2022

This course is aimed for swimmers who wish to improve or perfect their swimming technique and endurance in preparation for a triathlon.

  • Online registration, starting March 14, 6 p.m. (residents) and March 16, 8:30 a.m. (all)
  • April 1 to May 20, 2022 (8 weeks)
  • Schedule: Fridays, 6 to 7:30 p.m.
  • Duration: 90 minutes
  • Cost residents: $96 | Cost non-residents: $128

Informations

  • The swimming cap is mandatory for all.
  • For safety reasons, children under 6 years of age and those carrying a floating device must be accompanied by a responsible person in the water.
