Appointment of Ms. Laurence-Thalie Oberson as Directrice générale adjointe
The Ville de Vaudreuil-Dorion announces the appointment of Ms. Laurence-Thalie Oberson as directrice générale adjointe. She will assume her duties on September 14, 2026.
Ms. Oberson has nearly 25 years of experience in local government. Her career has taken her from
leadership roles in sports, culture, recreation, and community life to strategic and cross-functional responsibilities, notably as Directrice générale adjointe for the Ville de Sainte-Catherine. “I am very happy to join the team at the Ville de Vaudreuil-Dorion, and I am grateful for the trust placed in me. As a resident who has watched my family grow up here, this appointment holds special significance for me. It is with great enthusiasm that I will put my experience and energy to work for the teams and projects that will shape the future of our city.”
The directeur général Olivier Van Neste emphasizes the importance of this addition to the management team: “Ms. Oberson’s arrival is a significant asset to our organization. Her background and proven expertise will be major assets in supporting the management team as it carries out major projects and in assisting me with the day-to-day management of the City.”
In recent years, Ms. Oberson has led and overseen several transformative projects, including the
Sainte-Catherine–Delson intermunicipal sports complex, a multi-year initiative carried out in collaboration with numerous partners. Among her other achievements are the “Empreinte d’avenir” sustainable development policy initiative, which received a Municipal Merit Award, and the “Esprit Libre” waterfront master plan, which also received recognition. She has also held key responsibilities related to asset management, the coordination of cross-functional initiatives, and the establishment of partnerships—areas that have been central to her role as directrice générale adjointe.
Mayor Paul Dumoulin is delighted that Ms. Oberson has taken office. “On behalf of the city council, I would like to welcome Ms. Oberson. Her experience and understanding of municipal issues will be significant assets in helping the City carry out its projects and fulfill its mission to serve its citizens.”
Ms. Oberson succeeds Mélissa Côté who left the organization on June 19 to pursue her career at the Chambre des notaires du Québec.
