Enhanced Street Program for the Festival de cirque Vaudreuil-Dorion

From June 26 to 28, the Festival de cirque Vaudreuil-Dorion will once again transform Rue Jeannotte into a vast festive playground where street arts, circus performances, and family activities will take center stage. For this 20th edition, the Ville de Vaudreuil-Dorion is offering a program that returns to the very essence of the festival: bringing the circus to life in the heart of the public space in a friendly atmosphere accessible to all.

An even greater focus on street programming

This year, festivalgoers will enjoy an increased presence of circus arts and roaming performances
throughout the site. Acrobatics, juggling, interactive performances, street entertainment, and live
arts will punctuate the experience throughout the weekend.

Among the performances, audiences will be able to see FLIP Fabrique’s VACANCES, a vibrant production staged directly on a bus converted into a mobile stage. La compagnie du pigeon will present En s’attendant, a show blending acrobatics, dance, and physical theater, while The Pink Show will energize the venue with a performance combining juggling, fire, and humor.

Festi-Cirque will also be back for its 11th consecutive year. This important component of the festival allows young artists from the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region who are new to the circus arts to showcase their talent in front of an audience.

A Long-Standing Family Tradition

Over the years, the Festival de cirque has become a summer tradition for many families in the region. Once again this year, a host of free activities will be offered so that young and old alike can fully enjoy the site’s festive atmosphere. Inflatable games, creative workshops, face painting, introductions to circus arts, entertainment, and play areas will join the rides and diverse food offerings already enjoyed by visitors.

Musical evenings will also be on the program, featuring performances by Loud and Rymz on Friday,
June 26, as well as Garou and the Band de la Cité on Saturday, June 27. DJs will also be on hand both evenings to get festival-goers dancing.

An edition focused on memories

This 20th edition is intended above all as an opportunity to highlight the progress made by the Festival de cirque since its inception and the bond it has forged within the community. To mark this anniversary, a special section will be set up on the festival website to offer a preview of the immersive exhibition that will be presented this fall at the municipal center, from September 24 to November 23. Visitors will be able to discover objects, images, and mementos tracing the festival’s past 20 years. A video marathon will also allow residents to record a short testimonial to share their fondest memories of the Festival de cirque. These clips will then become an integral part of the fall exhibition.

“The City council wanted to refocus the Festival on what has set it apart since its inception: circus and street arts. This 20th edition reflects that vision and clearly affirms the identity we want to give it for years to come,” said Paul Dumoulin, mayor of Vaudreuil-Dorion.
