Celebration of Quebec’s National Holiday in Vaudreuil-Dorion
On June 23, the Ville de Vaudreuil-Dorion invites residents to celebrate Quebec’s National Holiday at Parc Le 405 and on the campus of Cité-des-Jeunes during a festive and musical evening that will conclude with a spectacular fireworks display over Baie de Vaudreuil.
Just like last year, the Saint-Jean-Baptiste celebration will be presented alongside the Festival de cirque, which is taking place on different dates this year. It is therefore a separate event featuring programming entirely dedicated to celebrating the Quebec nation.
From 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., festivities will begin at Parc Le 405, where residents can enjoy a bar, food trucks ($), and a musical performance by 2 Pierrots featuring Yanik Pepin and Serge Lachapelle. The two performers spent many years on the stage of the legendary Old Montreal song venue. Longtime collaborators, they will bring the spirit of 2 Pierrots back to life through songs and memories.
At the same time, a second entertainment area in front of the Cité-des-Jeunes campus will welcome visitors with food trucks and a bar ($) starting at 6:30 p.m. At 7:30 p.m., DJ Kleancut will get the crowd dancing with a selection of 100% French-language classics. Then, beginning at 9 p.m., a vibrant female trio will take the stage: Rafaëlle Roy and her special guests Kim Richardson and Éléonore Lagacé will deliver a vocal showcase leading up to the fireworks display at 10 p.m. The second half of the evening will continue until approximately 10:45 p.m.
“Quebec’s National Holiday is an opportunity to come together and collectively celebrate our language, culture, and Quebec pride. I warmly invite the entire community to join us in large numbers on June 23 to enjoy this wonderful evening,” said Mayor Paul Dumoulin.
Admission is free for all activities scheduled on June 23. Parking will be available at the Cité-des-Jeunes campus. Nearby streets, including a portion of Saint-Charles Avenue, will be closed starting at 6:30 p.m. to ensure the safety of the many pedestrians expected on site. Dogs will not be permitted on the Cité-des-Jeunes campus. Participants are encouraged to bring their own chairs.
