The Oasis créative resumes operations in March
The Oasis créative, a self-service art space offered by the Ville de Vaudreuil-Dorion, will resume its activities on March 2 at the Édifice de la Croisée, just in time to welcome families for spring break.
Since the fall of 2023, the Oasis créative has established itself as a gathering place where artists and citizens share an authentic moment around art. This spring, Monica Brinkman, Isabelle Deprez, Michel Dufour, Annick Gauvreau, Marie-José Gélinas, Nathalie Paquette, Céline Poirier, Jacinthe Richard, Marjorie Taillefer, and Stéphanie Viens will take turns accompanying visitors who wish to explore their artistic endeavors.
"The Oasis créative is an accessible, pressure-free space where everyone can experiment and give free rein to their imagination. We want citizens to feel welcome here, regardless of their level of experience," says Lyne Charlebois, Head of Divison culture et développement social.
A wide range of materials is available free of charge on site: pastels, watercolors, acrylic paints, felt-tip pens and pencils, matte medium, chalk, varnish, cardboard canvases, and more. An artist is always on hand to guide, advise, or simply chat about a shared interest.
“By making artistic creation accessible and free, we are concretely affirming our desire to democratize culture and promote human interaction. The Oasis créative is an inspiring example of what a vibrant and participatory culture can be,” adds Mayor Paul Dumoulin.
