Soirées-rencontres evenings: Renowned artists in Vaudreuil-Dorion this spring

The Ville de Vaudreuil-Dorion is pleased to unveil the spring program for its Soirées-rencontres gatherings, presented at the Opticentre St-Jean-Baptiste. Over the years, these special events have welcomed artists and prominent figures from a variety of backgrounds. This new season is no exception and promises to appeal to a diverse audience thanks to the rich and contrasting backgrounds of the guests, ranging from professional sports to television and music.

Dave Morissette – March 25

A former Montreal Canadiens player, Dave Morissette wore the Tricolore uniform from 1998 to 2000 before retiring from professional hockey. Since then, he has established himself as a key figure in Quebec’s media landscape. A sports analyst, host, and contributor to television and radio, he can be seen on TVA Sports. The recipient of ten Artis Awards, he will generously share anecdotes, reflections, and highlights from his extraordinary career.

Ludivine Reding – April 22

One of the most prominent actresses and presenters of her generation, Ludivine Reding has starred in several notable series, including Fugueuse, Clash, and STAT. Her role in Fugueuse earned her an Artis Award. Also active in film, animation, and voice acting since childhood, she will discuss her profession, the evolution of her career, and the challenges of fame and creativity.

Marc Hervieux – May 20

Since 2009, Marc Hervieux has released twelve pop and classical albums, earning three gold records and three Félix Awards, including two in the Album of the Year – Classical/Vocal category. A versatile artist, he has toured Quebec extensively and is also a regular on television and radio, notably on ICI Musique. He will offer an encounter marked by sensitivity and passion for music.

Corneille – June 10

Singer-songwriter and speaker Corneille is known for his unique voice and profound lyrics. Born in Germany to Rwandan parents, he survived the 1994 genocide before settling in Canada, where he has built a remarkable career. His personal and artistic journey, marked by resilience and hope, now informs his speeches on diversity, creativity, and the power of love. This evening event is made possible thanks to the financial support of the Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Intégration du Québec.

“This season, we wanted to offer a more diverse program that reflects our community by inviting artists from very different backgrounds, but who are all deeply human and accessible,” explains Lyne Charlebois, Head of Culture and Social Development.

“The evening gatherings allow citizens to experience unique moments close to home. Being able to hear these artists talk about their careers in an intimate setting, completely free of charge, is a privilege that helps make culture alive and accessible to all,” adds Mayor Paul Dumoulin.

The Soirées-rencontres gatherings are free and open to the public. They take place at 7:30 p.m. at the Opticentre St-Jean-Baptiste, located at 145 Harwood Boulevard. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Patrick Richard, Amélie Boivin Handfield, and Natalie Poirier will share the hosting duties for this season’s events.
