Notice of Planned Power Outage – Saturday, March 28, from 10:30 p.m.

Hydro-Québec is notifying its customers that it must carry out major work at the Dorion substation, located in Vaudreuil-Dorion. A power outage is therefore scheduled from 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, to 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 29.

Service will be restored gradually for residential customers until noon to prevent overloading the grid when power is restored.

This emergency work must be completed quickly to ensure the reliability of the electrical service and reduce the risk of failure in certain substation equipment. It will help prevent a major breakdown that could lead to a prolonged outage affecting a large number of customers. This is complex work requiring rigorous planning and the coordination of multiple teams.

The outage is scheduled for nighttime and the weekend to minimize its impact. Although this work may cause some inconvenience, it is necessary to ensure the safety of workers and the public, which requires temporarily de-energizing the grid. The chosen time slot is the best option to allow field crews to complete the work quickly and safely.

Hydro-Québec has already notified the affected customers. You can check whether an address is affected by this outage by visiting Hydro-Québec’s Info-pannes page.

Residents are also encouraged to save the addresses they want to monitor in Hydro-Québec’s Info-pannes mobile app to track the situation in real time.
