Errances 2026 | Call for proposals
The Ville de Vaudreuil-Dorion’s Errances initiative is back for its fifth year! Thomas Duret is once again serving as curator for the project this year. This year, it will run alongside the activities of the Vaudreuil-Dorion Circus Festival and will feature two components.
Format
Errances will take place on June 27 and 28 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. The call for proposals is for performing arts works or installation projects. There are two categories in which artists can submit their applications:
- Short-form performing arts projects – 5 to 10 minutes
- Interactive installation projects – Spanning two afternoons (12 p.m. to 6 p.m.)
These works will be presented over the weekend in situ on Saint-Charles Avenue, on the fringes of the Festival de cirque Vaudreuil-Dorion.
We are seeking performing arts and installation projects that are openly critical, rigorous in thought, and simple in execution. Artists should note that the presentation context requires a certain degree of flexibility, and the works will be presented to an audience ranging from casual and novice viewers to art enthusiasts. Please take this into consideration when submitting your project. We are not seeking entertainment projects, but rather performing arts works and interactive installation projects.
The Ville de Vaudreuil-Dorion offers:
- A performance fee of $1,200 for a 10-minute performing arts project
- A fee of between $3,000 and $4,000 per installation project
- Comprehensive support for the project’s presentation (assistance with coordination, communication, and publicity surrounding the event, hospitality on the day of the event, a green room with refreshments, etc.)
*The City cannot provide reimbursement for travel and accommodation. Photo and video archiving is not included.
This call for proposals aims to reach all communities and is committed to ensuring a diverse representation of aesthetics, languages, perspectives, and cultural backgrounds.
You have until midnight on March 23, 2026, to submit a project. Please note that incomplete applications will not be considered.
Selected projects will receive a response by the end of April 2026. After this date, if you have not received a response, you are invited to write to us to obtain information about the decision (potential reasons and comments regarding the project). Feedback is important to us, and we are committed to engaging in dialogue regarding unselected proposals. We understand the impact this can have on an artist’s career. That said, given the number of projects received, comments may be brief.
