The Ville de Vaudreuil-Dorion invites the public to dance outdoors at the Feux et Flocons event on Saturday, February 21, starting at 7:00 p.m. at the parc de la Maison-Valois, with DJs Montana and Duffix performing on the roof of the Lumicube. The evening’s highlight, the fireworks display, will take place at 9:15 p.m. above Vaudreuil Bay.
“Feux et Flocons is a must-see winter event in Vaudreuil-Dorion. Every year, our residents look forward to it with enthusiasm and are happy to rediscover parc de la Maison-Valois under its blanket of snow,” said Paul Dumoulin, Mayor of Vaudreuil-Dorion.
Headlining the evening, DJ Montana will set the Lumicube stage on fire from 8:15 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Based in Montreal, she is the official DJ for Radio-Canada and the Montreal Victory team (LPHF), and has performed at numerous clubs and festivals across Canada. DJ Montana combines flawless technique with raw musical sensitivity, creating energetic and original sets that mix electronic, hip hop, dancehall, and Latin music, moving seamlessly from recent hits to reimagined classics. Charismatic and full of energy, she knows how to make any dance floor come alive.
The evening will kick off with DJ Duffix, a local artist who performed last year at Feux et Flocons and Plaisirs d’hiver, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. At the same time, as seen in major electronic music festivals, VJ HEX8 will offer a live audiovisual performance from 7:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., projecting images perfectly synchronized with the music. Inside the Lumicube, visitors can also experience laser drawing.
Making its debut this year, the ice rink will be open throughout the evening. Residents can bring their own skates or borrow a pair at the Valois chalet upon presentation of their citizen card (limited quantities available). Other on-site activities include roaming entertainment, snowskate discovery with the Toasters, illuminated poi workshops, and the Caravane Mozaïk with its photobooth. The ice rink, chalet, and hill will be accessible from 7:00 p.m., including skate, snowskate, and tubing rentals.
Festival-goers can enjoy treats from the Frit & Gof food truck, including its meatball stew poutine, or indulge in delicious churros from another truck. A bar service will also be available on site, featuring La Distillerie 3 Lacs. Outside alcohol is not permitted. Free hot chocolate will be offered to help guests warm up.
Please note that the ice rink, hill, and equipment rental will be closed from February 18 at 8:30 a.m. to February 21 at 6:30 p.m. to allow for site preparation. The parc de la Maison-Valois parking lot will be unavailable from Wednesday, February 18 at 8:30 a.m. to Monday, February 23 at 4:00 p.m. to facilitate the setup and takedown of the site.
If weather conditions are unfavorable, Feux et Flocons may be cancelled. Residents are encouraged to check the City’s Facebook page or call the Info-Cancellation line at 450 424-8502 to confirm the event.
