Our website designer, Locomotive, is currently working on the structure of the site in English.
Everything should be completed in the summer of 2017.

City Hall project : municipal administration awaiting government guidelines

Vaudreuil-Dorion, May 31, 2017 – Following the historical floods we experienced this spring, Premier Philippe Couillard expressed that zoning, urban plans and flood zone maps need to be re-evaluated. The Vaudreuil-Dorion Municipal Council will therefore wait for the government to render its decisions in the regard before going forward with the City Hall construction project.

During the meeting of May 15, Mayor Guy Pilon mentioned to the citizens in attendance that the City Hall project has been postponed until new guidelines are provided on flood zones. “The historical floods that shook our region have naturally provoked further reflection and analysis on our part,” stated Mayor Guy Pilon.

The Mayor reiterated that the portion of land intended as the location of the new City Hall building is not located in a flood zone and has never experienced flooding in the past, contrary to what some people claim.

“The acquisition of 405 Saint-Charles Avenue is excellent news for the City. Thanks to our involvement, this space will be accessible to all citizens, whether or not it becomes the location of our new City Hall building,” declared Mayor Guy Pilon.

Parking at Centre Multisports : Long-term zone to be added

The City of Vaudreuil-Dorion has decided to establish a long-term zone in the parking lot of Centre Multisports, close by the Vaudreuil train station. “Since last Monday, we have been studying the volume of traffic at the Centre Multisports parking lot and we see that we can free up space for users of the station. We are aware that the most difficult months are December, January and February when snow obstructs the space and takes up many parking places. Starting today, we will be providing 55 long-term parking spaces. This will not solve everything, but we are fully aware of the problems faced by our residents,” stated Mayor Guy Pilon.

On March 13th, Mayor Guy Pilon held a press conference to announce a new regulation for the Centre Multisports parking lot, namely a maximum stay of four consecutive hours. This decision resulted from numerous complaints filed by Centre Multisports users in recent months.

“While we’re waiting for the station parking lot to be finished, shuttle buses or a valet parking service like Saint-Lambert are a possibility for next winter. The AMT and the MTQ have to solve the problem. The number of people using the commuter train and the A-40 is constantly increasing. The Centre Multisports clientele is also growing and there have been numerous complaints about the lack of parking space since January. We can’t ignore this very legitimate request, as the parking lot belongs to Centre Multisports. Commuter train users also have their own space. The MTQ has the power to arrive at a solution. I will make sure that they don’t forget their commitment,” added Mayor Guy Pilon.

A meeting is scheduled between the AMT and Mayor Guy Pilon at City Hall on April 13th. The Mayor will discuss parking problems and measures to ease the situation.

La MRC a implanté le service d’appels 3-1-1 après avoir constaté une forte proportion d’appels non urgents, de type travaux publics, au 9-1-1.

Le 3-1-1 n’est pas un service d’information ni d’administration municipale. Il sert par exemple à aviser les autorités compétentes d’un bris d’aqueduc, d’un refoulement d’égouts, d’une entrave à la circulation, d’une chaussée glissante, etc., et ce, lorsque les bureaux municipaux sont fermés.

Durant les heures d’ouverture, communiquez plutôt avec le Service des travaux publics au 450 455-3371, option 3.

Si votre requête n’est pas urgente, par exemple, un luminaire défectueux, vous pouvez également remplir une requête en ligne ou utiliser l’application Voilà via votre téléphone intelligent. Cette application permet de transmettre l’information à l’administration municipale de façon très précise, puisque vous pouvez joindre une photo et localiser l’endroit exact de la problématique.
