Odour treatment at the wastewater treatment plant

You may have noticed a light mist appearing around the City's Sequential Biological Reactor (SBR) at the wastewater treatment plant. Rest assured: this fine misting is part of a new treatment system put in place to reduce odors emitted by the facility.

What you need to know :

• The mist is harmless to health and the environment.
• It contains a highly diluted active agent (1 part per 1000) designed to neutralize odorous compounds present in the air.
• It's neither a perfume nor a masking product: it's a technology that acts at source, modifying the molecules responsible for unpleasant odors to render them odorless.

This initiative is designed to improve the quality of life of nearby residents, while ensuring optimal operation of our facilities. A second phase is planned in the near future to neutralize odours from sludge skips.
