MOSA: Four new art installations celebrate words in Vaudreuil-Dorion
On Saturday, September 27, four new installations created as part of the 2025 edition of MOSA, the festival of words, were unveiled at parc-nature Harwood. These installations join the Haïkus du jardin artwork, which was produced for the same event in 2023. This year, artists and authors drew inspiration from the theme of memory to offer visitors a multidisciplinary exhibition.
"MOSA was created in 2018 with the aim of celebrating the French language in all its forms. This year, we decided to present this festival of words through a series of artistic projects. Words are of course associated with literature and poetry, but they can also be integrated into other art forms. I invite people to come and see for themselves at parc-nature Harwood and discover the creativity of our artists and authors," explains Karine Marin, cheffe de la Section arts et culture at Ville de Vaudreuil-Dorion.
The Four Installations
La fin du Mot-nde
Young people from the Animation Jeunesse Vaudreuil-Dorion day camp teen club were invited to participate in workshops during which they expressed their thoughts on five end-of-the-world scenarios. Artist Patrick Richard is creating written, video, and podcast content to create an archive that will stand the test of time. This cultural mediation project was carried out as part of the 2025-2027 cultural development agreement between the Ville de Vaudreuil-Dorion and the Ministère de la Culture et des Communications du Québec.
Chemins de mémoire
Led by Nane Couzier, this literary walk brings to life the memories of 20 authors from the region. The writing theme, referring as much to autobiographical memory as to historical or geological memory, gave them a wide range of possible explorations. Along the nature park trail, the literary walk takes on its full meaning!
Des abîmes aux étoiles
The work of poet and collage artist Mathieu Dubé, displayed at the nature park chalet, enhances Inspira, the open-air exhibition highlighting the region's artistic talent that can already be found on several buildings in the city: the Centre multisports André-Chagnon, the Croisée building, the municipal arena, the parc de la Maison-Valois chalet and the Normand-Desjardins pavilion.
Émergence
The new artwork by artists Madeleine Turgeon and Gabriel Laframboise embodies not only the beauty and poetry of nature, but also the creative energy of words and ideas. This metal sculpture is the result of a participatory typography workshop that produced terms conveying hope, light, and humanity.
The MOSA exhibition, unveiled during Culture Days, will run until 2026 at parc-nature Harwood (3900 Route Harwood). You can also view the artworks via the Réseau Mozaïk art trail at jesuismozaik.com.
