Vaudreuil-Dorion is a unilingually French city, a status that was determined by the Government of Quebec.

French status

In order for a municipality to offer services in both official languages, half of its population must be residents whose mother tongue is English, which is not currently the case for Vaudreuil-Dorion.

Because of this status, the Charter of the French language requires that only French be used in posting, writing and publishing documents, except where health or public safety also requires the use of another language.

However, the City has chosen to offer a pdf version of a few general-interest publications.
