Drinking water: The City of Vaudreuil-Dorion bans lawn watering

Excessive consumption of drinking water, combined with the oppressive heat and low rainfall in recent weeks and in the coming weeks, has forced the City to issue a ban on lawn watering, effective today throughout the territory. This ban aims to prioritize responsible consumption of drinking water and reduce pressure on the City's infrastructure.

The City will be particularly vigilant in enforcing this ban. Inspectors will be present throughout the territory and will have the authority to issue notices and citations to violators. Watering flowers, vegetable gardens, and shrubs using a hand-held automatic shut-off spray gun, as well as adjusting the water level in swimming pools and spas, remains permitted.

This ban applies to all buildings served by the City of Vaudreuil-Dorion water system, including those located in the municipalities of Vaudreuil-sur-le-Lac, L’Île-Cadieux, and Saint-Lazare.

The ban is in effect until September 2. The situation will be reassessed thereafter.
