A summer full of activities for everyone in Vaudreuil-Dorion
After a gray and rainy month of May, the City of Vaudreuil-Dorion is happy to bring a little sunshine by unveiling its summer program. Once again this year, a host of completely free activities will delight young and old alike until the end of August. Full details are now available online, via the Web calendar, as well as in the Sous le soleil brochure, which was recently distributed to all residents by mail.
Festival de cirque
The Festival de cirque officially marks the start of summer in Vaudreuil-Dorion. From June 20 to 22, rue Jeannotte will welcome festival-goers with rides, street entertainment and fun zones. Performances include Éric Lapointe (June 20), Marie-Mai (June 21) and La Grand-Messe (June 22), who will pay tribute to the Cowboys Fringants. The complete program is available at festivalaldecirque.com.
Le 405
From July 7, Le 405 will be back to life with a varied program of discovery workshops, improvisation matches, comedy shows and musical evenings all summer long. Visitors can enjoy a moment of relaxation at the Guinguette, a festive terrace overlooking Vaudreuil Bay, or share a picnic with family and friends at the Grande Tablée. Bar service, street truck, equipment loans, relaxation areas... Le 405 is a must-see!
Fêtes de quartier
On Wednesdays from July 2 to August 20, the Fêtes de quartier will be held in a different park each week. These friendly gatherings are designed to foster neighborhood life and create opportunities for neighbors to get together, while encouraging civic initiatives. On the program: giant games, strolling entertainment, Caravane Mozaïk and community organization booths. New this year: citizens can picnic and take part in an impromptu musical session at the Pavillon du voisinage, an activity made possible thanks to the support of the Ministère de l'Immigration, de la Francisation et de l'Intégration.
Open-air cinema
New: open-air films will enliven two summer evenings in Vaudreuil-Dorion. Moana 2 will be shown on July 26 at 6:30 p.m. at the Saint-Jean-Baptiste pool (a parent must be present for children aged 13 and under), followed by Mlle Bottine on August 7 at 8 p.m. at the Pôle Municipal. Chairs and blankets are required for optimal comfort during screenings.
Sports, water and aquatic programming
Fitness enthusiasts can take advantage of a varied selection of free outdoor classes led by qualified trainers: HYROX training (with family option), zumba, stroller fitness, chair yoga and Yin Yang yoga. These sessions will take place at Parc de la Maison-Valois, as well as at Parc Le 405 for the various yoga sessions. Reservations are not required.
At Parc Paul-Gérin-Lajoie, an equipment loan service will be available from July 7 to August 22, allowing users to borrow skateboards, scooters, table tennis and beach tennis equipment, volleyballs and more. In addition, young people aged 12 to 17 can take part in activities hosted by the Bunker every Tuesday evening.
At the municipal outdoor pools, swimming lessons for children and adults will be back. Registration opens on June 9 at 6 p.m. for Vaudreuil-Dorion residents. Children can also have fun on an inflatable structure on the water on Thursdays, and during a special program on June 24 and July 1.
In addition to the boat rental service offered at Parc de la Maison-Valois, introductory paddleboarding courses will also be offered. This course leads to the Paddle Canada Basic Flat Water Stand Up Paddleboard Skills certification. Participants will learn the basics of the discipline, including kneeling and standing positions, moving and turning techniques, as well as essential safety notions.
As for parc-nature Harwood, it's the ideal place for a family picnic or an introduction to disc golf.
In culture
Always a crowd-pleaser, the Rythmes d'été shows will once again liven up the agora in Parc de la Maison-Valois. Starting July 8, the outdoor stage will welcome Rick Duff, Raniah (Lynda Thalie), Rose Adam, Annie Villeneuve, Nicola Ciccone, Jeanick Fournier and Lynda Lemay.
This summer, the Caravane Mozaïk will be criss-crossing the parks and events of Vaudreuil-Dorion, ready to welcome citizens and offer them a variety of experiences. The five modes of the caravan will be offered in turn throughout the season: exhibition, performance, workshop, techno and biblio.
New this year: the Caravane Mozaïk will occupy the public square at the municipal hub twice a week. On Thursdays, in creative workshop mode, the outdoor space will be transformed into a multifunctional zone, offering creative workshops and an introduction to the Lab's digital tools. On Saturdays, in perfo or workshop mode, cultural organizations will be on hand to introduce visitors to their world.
In addition, the Caravane Mozaïk will be presenting the Regards exhibition during discovery workshops on Mondays at Parc Le 405 and Saturdays at the Municipal Hub. Throughout the summer, ten Vaudreuil-Dorion artists will unveil a work inspired by the new cultural policy, expressing their vision of local culture.
The Caravane Mozaïk, in library and park workshop modes, will offer library services and share the pleasure of reading. Citizens will be able to read on site, borrow documents, take out a subscription or renew their library card. At the same time, artistic creation activities will be offered in an atmosphere inspired by the Oasis Créative. At the Maison Félix-Leclerc, in addition to guided tours of the house, people will have the opportunity to attend concerts in the gardens and film screenings, in collaboration with the Ciné-Club La boîte lumineuse and CSUR la télé. Finally, on August 2, in collaboration with Les Amis de Félix Leclerc, the town will present Célébrons Félix with Marie-Élaine Thibert.
The full cultural program is available at jesuismozaik.com.

This year, registration for the TD Summer Reading Club, aimed at young people aged 17 and under, opens on June 14 at the municipal library (2000, rue Émile-Bouchard). The closing party will take place on August 17.
