Les Filles du Roy: Dive into the Heart of History
The living history group Les Filles du Roy will introduce participants to the journeys of these young women who emigrated to New France under the authority of King Louis XIV to marry and help populate the colony. The facilitators, portraying Filles du Roy, will share anecdotes from their lives with realism and emotion. Participants will learn who they were, where they came from, how they were recruited, the conditions under which they emigrated, and what they contributed to the colony’s population growth…
