Evening hosted by Patrick Richard

French-speaking singer Corneille was born in Germany to Rwandan parents. Today, he is a writer, singer-songwriter, producer, genocide survivor, and now a speaker. He discovered his passion for music in 1993, when he was introduced to songwriting and composition. However, his life changed after witnessing the murder of his parents and siblings at the age of 17 during the 1994 Rwandan genocide. He fled and ended up in Germany, where he stayed for a few years before immigrating to Canada in 1997. Surviving these circumstances was difficult, but he did survive and built a career as a singer-songwriter and now a speaker. He learned from his parents the resilience and power of diversity, as well as the power of love. Being creative requires being bold, getting to the bottom of things, and listening to yourself. His survival, his hopes, his happiness, his dreams, his successes, his story, and his roots are the secret to Corneille's wisdom.
