Water main flushing underway: Blue Network
The Ville de Vaudreuil-Dorion wishes to inform the public that unidirectional flushing work on the blue water network (formerly Vaudreuil), as well as hydrant inspection, is underway between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., for a period of approximately six weeks. Flushing of the red network (formerly Dorion) will take place at night, between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., at the end of June.
To find out which drinking water distribution network supplies your property, you can use the Search by address tool on our website.
Flushing involves increasing the water's circulation speed in the system to remove particles and debris that may have formed on the pipe walls. Operations are carried out using predetermined flushing routes that promote better cleaning.
This major operation may result in a slight drop in water pressure, accompanied or not by a rusty (reddish) discoloration; this can cause a number of inconveniences, including stains on fabrics. We recommend washing fabrics and dishes between 4 p.m. and 7 a.m. on weekdays, and at any time on weekends. If your water is rusty, open the cold water tap in your bath and let it run until it becomes colorless. Despite its appearance, the water remains safe for consumption and presents no health hazard.
