Sylvain Desjardins: War Correspondent

Understanding wars through the people who experience them is what Sylvain Desjardins, a journalist with Radio-Canada for 40 years, proposes. He recounts his experiences covering numerous conflicts on the ground in Afghanistan, Iraq, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Indonesia, Sudan and elsewhere in Africa. Through anecdotes and reflections, he explores more personal topics, including working as a journalist in a war zone, fear, stress and the challenges of balancing such a career with family life.
