Water main flushing: Vaudreuil sector
The City of Vaudreuil-Dorion wishes to inform its citizens that it will be proceeding with the unidirectional flushing of the Vaudreuil water system along with the inspection of fire hydrants beginning on April 6 between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m, for a period of approximately one month.
Flushing involves increasing the speed of water flow through the system to remove particles and debris that may form on the conduit walls. The operations are carried out using pre-determined flushing routes that promote better cleaning.
This large-scale operation can cause a slight drop in water pressure; it may also cause the water to be rust-coloured, which can lead to certain inconveniences such as stains on fabrics. Clothing and dishes should therefore be washed between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. on weekdays or at any time on weekends. If your water looks rusty, turn on the cold water in your bathtub and let it run until it is clear.
To find out which water system your property is connected to, citizens are urged to use the search by address option on the City's website which can be found on the home page. If you have any questions, please contact the Public Works Department at 450-455-3371, option 3.
