The City of Vaudreuil-Dorion postpones due dates for payment of property taxes

During a special meeting held on January 25th, 2021, the City Council adopted regulation no. 1802-01, amending the regulation which serves to set tax rates and municipal service charges for the year 2021 in order to extend payment due dates for property taxes.

As a result, all three due dates initially scheduled for March 15, June 15 and September 15 will be postponed by 30 days, with the new dates being April 14, July 15 and October 15. The tax account to be sent in mid-February will be adapted to this new deadline. "The purpose of this measure is to give our citizens some breathing space. The pandemic has been going on for almost a year now and we know that the situation is far from easy for many," said Mayor Guy Pilon.

It is worth noting that the tax increase in Vaudreuil-Dorion is only 1.5% for 2021 and that a tax relief in the same order is offered to owners of residential buildings with five or less units, thereby offsetting the 2021 increase in taxes entirely. Businesses will have access to a local aid fund to be implemented soon with Dévelopment Vaudreuil-Soulanges.
