Spring Reminders for Residents of Vaudreuil-Dorion

As the warmer weather begins to settle in, the City of Vaudreuil-Dorion wishes to share details about some Springtime practices that citizens should know about.

Green waste collection

The first green waste collection of the year has been moved forward. The service will therefore start on April 20th for areas 1, 4 and 5 and April 22nd for areas 2 and 3 and will take place every two weeks until October. Please remember that paper bags or bulk waste, contained in a large plastic bin for instance, must be placed at the curb before 7 a.m. on the day of the collection. Green waste includes grass and leaves, waste from gardens and flowerbeds, and hedge clippings. It is not permitted to add these items to the garbage collection (black bins).

Responsible use of drinking water

Under By-law 1623, pool water must be treated when starting it up. Emptying the pool completely and refilling it with drinking water is punishable by a fine ranging from $150 to $2,000. The fine will be higher for any excessive use of water, which includes cleaning a parking space. The regulation concerning the outdoor use of drinking water can be found Watering section. Also, a permit is required for the complete filling of a swimming pool that has been newly installed, or that has needed repairs. The request for a permit should be made online.
