A contest by Club de photo Vaudreuil-Dorion to mark the 25th anniversary of the merger

The City of Vaudreuil-Dorion is pleased to announce the launch of the contest by the Club de photo Vaudreuil-Dorion marking the 25th anniversary of the merger between Vaudreuil and Dorion. The chosen theme for the contest is À la rencontre de ma ville (Getting to know my city) and all citizens of Vaudreuil-Dorion are invited to participate, except for those who are members of the Photo Club.

Photo enthusiasts have until 11:59 p.m. on August 31st to select a maximum of five photographs depicting the theme and send them in JPG format to concoursphoto25e@ville.vaudreuil-dorion.qc.ca. Winners will have the pleasure of seeing their photos in the City’s Municipal Calendar for 2020 and will also have the opportunity to attend one of the Photo Club’s lectures for free.

"To commemorate the merger, it was the wish of the Committee for the 25th anniversary to offer activities aimed at including all citizens. Through this contest, we believe that we will have some pleasant surprises and that we will discover our City from a variety of perspectives. I truly hope that citizens will want to participate in great numbers", said Mayor Guy Pilon.

From all the photos received, a jury will select six finalists under the age of 18 and six others over the age of 18. The cover of the calendar will be dedicated to the Coup de cœur of the jury, all ages combined.

The President of the Vaudreuil-Dorion Photo Club, Danick Denis, is very pleased that photography is being brought to the forefront as part of the festivities. "Photography is a growing form of art in the region. It is a unifying, creative and dynamic activity that corresponds perfectly with the image of the citizens of Vaudreuil-Dorion. I look forward to discovering the City through the eyes of the participants!", he said.
